Naked in the Sky

, ,

I dined at Naked in the Sky with a few Melbourne friends on a Saturday night in November 2013.  Naked (both this roof terrace and the more casual Bar de Pinxtos downstairs) are part of the Melbourne trend to not take bookings. This is quite frustrating for those of us who are super organised, though it does mean you can get a table (eventually) without having to book a month in advance. My cousin arrived first and got up to the roof terrace pretty quickly. Unfortunately, by the time I arrived only half an hour later, there was a horrendous queue. We had to line up in Queue 1 for about an hour, just to put our name down on the list. Then we were in another queue for the lift! The size of the lift is part of the problem. It does not fit many people unfortunately. When I finally got up there, we got a table pretty quickly, though the ones on the balcony with spectacular views were taken of course. Once we had a glass of wine and tried the yummy food, all was forgiven. Tip: they take bookings for lunch. Go then. The views are better too.
